The Contrail™ Bootstrap system (patent pending) utilizes ultra-high-strength Dyneema® rope with a 1,600-pound breaking strength, superior cut resistance, and wear resistance comparable to steel. Combined with a robust aluminum buckle and a specialized nylon webbing adjustment, this bootstrap offers exceptional durability and is fully replaceable.
The “V” webbing attachment on the gaiter's instep distributes tension more effectively, reducing wear and increasing attachment strength. This design enhances the gaiter's overall durability and wear resistance.
For a tailored fit, the SQ2 Gaiter features a Velcro® adjustment system that adapts to the exact circumference of your calf, accommodating various layers of clothing. The nylon webbing strap at the top includes an integrated elastic section for consistent tension and a secure seal, preventing snow and debris from entering. The waterproof breathable upper and double-layer X-Pac™ lower provide reliable weatherproof protection.

As well as its extraordinary strength, Dyneema® excels in cut and abrasion resistance and has a high resistance to chemicals and UV. Dyneema® is so light that it floats on water and furthermore has a very high modulus (resistance against deformation).

HydraShield™ technology prevents rain and snow from passing through to your body while transporting water vapors from sweat to the exterior of the textile during high exertion activities. This transfusion process ensures you stay warm and dry in all wet weather conditions.
Our proprietary line of waterproof breathable textiles, HydraShield™, launched last year with a 3-Layer textile designed for the ultimate in durability and packability. The lower of the SQ2 Alpine Gaiter is constructed from durable X-Pac™ material that can stand up to harsh abrasion while also providing waterproof protection.
