  1. This is another very old ... review by Glen on 6/12/2017

This is another very old design that is still around because it was done right the first time. This is the easiest mold to cast with that I have. It drops good bullets almost as soon as you start casting, but it quickly overheats. You have to cast at a much slower pace than usual, unless you want severely frosted bullets. This slows down your production rate, although the rejection rate is very low. I have shot some fairly good groups (4\"=100yds-iron sights)with this bullet and 40.5 grains of 3031, but I am going to experiment some more to see if I can tighten them up some. A friend of mine has a Marlin Cowboy just like mine and he has some targets that are worth bragging on, using this bullet and 4198 powders.

  2. I have had this mold ... review by Mark on 6/12/2017

I have had this mold (457124) for close to 20 years and have cast thousands of bullets with it. I have used it cast somewhat soft and at moderate velocities (1400-1500 fps) for hunting. It has worked well on both whitetail deer as well as black bear. Cast hard it can be driven quite a bit faster (1700-1800 fps) and will penetrate like crazy but with minimal expansion. The mold has held up well and still casts great bullets which drop easily from it.
